PASSAGE TO ANOTHER SIDE is the metamorphosis undergone by several characters from the Barcas trilogy (Barca do Inferno, Barca do Purgatório and Barca da Glória). This exhibition is composed of 13 small puppets. These puppets are based upon Gil Vicente’s characters, and build a bridge between signature jewellery, plays and performances. PASSAGE TO ANOTHER SIDE does not confine to the puppets’ artistic concept linking medieval and contemporary aesthetics and arts – there is a permanent dialogue with Gil Vicente’s plays and a new interpretation of the symbols and features of each character/puppet.
